Machine Blasting and Priming
Surface Preparation
Thorough surface preparation is the first step toward a high-quality coating. We blast steel with a material thickness of at least 5 mm using steel grit, adhering to the specifications of ISO/EN 12944 Part 4. The descaling level achieved meets the SA 2.5 standard according to ISO/EN 8501-1. This process ensures a uniform, clean, and textured surface, perfectly prepared for subsequent coating.

Coating
In our state-of-the-art automatic pass-through blasting system, we achieve an ideal all-around steel surface roughness of 75 µm. This textured surface provides the perfect foundation for the application of our production primers. We use zinc silicate in gray or green, applied with a layer thickness of 15-25 µm. This optimized coating ensures enhanced adhesion and prolonged corrosion protection.
Environmental Compatibility
Sustainability is our top priority. The solvents contained in our proven 2-component primers are environmentally disposed of in our thermal afterburning system. This process minimizes emissions and actively contributes to environmental protection without compromising the quality of our coatings.

Coating Variants
Zinc silicate coating is gaining increasing importance due to its unique properties. It acts as a cathodic corrosion protection and stands out for its exceptional durability. Key advantages at a glance:
- Temporary corrosion protection: Extended surface protection even under extreme conditions.
- Excellent welding performance: Minimal weld burn of only about 3 mm.
- Universal further processing: Outstanding compatibility with subsequent coatings and fireproof paints.
These characteristics make zinc silicate coating the preferred choice for many of our customers, particularly in the shipbuilding and offshore industries.
Quality Assurance
Our customers benefit from a comprehensive quality assurance system designed for maximum reliability and transparency. Our key measures at a glance:
- Precise processing settings: Our experienced specialists continuously monitor and optimize blasting and coating processes.
- Ongoing quality controls: Continuous inspections of blasting and preservation quality ensure consistently high standards.
- Accurate layer thickness measurements: Electronic measuring technology guarantees compliance with specified coating thicknesses.
- Traceable batch management: Complete documentation of the processed coatings ensures full traceability.
- IMO tests: Our coatings meet the stringent requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for underwater ship applications.
With these measures, we ensure the quality of our products and services, providing solutions that meet the highest standards.
